With the film hitting theaters in just a few weeks and tickets slated to go on sale later this week, AVENGERS: ENDGAME is officially ramping up in its marketing with the slew of new details regarding the approaching release seemingly uncapped. And to add onto that slew of details is the official confirmation of the review embargo for the film. In press screening invites that were sent to critics around the nation earlier today, it was confirmed that the embargo will lift on Tuesday, April 23rd at 6pm EST. As of the moment, we have no official word on the social media embargo other than the presumption that it will lift after the World Premiere in Los Angeles on Monday.
The choice to keep reviews so tightly managed before the release is a move similar to that last year's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, grossing over 2 billion at the box office with an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, and this year's CAPTAIN MARVEL, which is about to edge over the 1 billion mark and has a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Clearly, even though it does go against the norm, this style of marketing with press has been successful with Marvel as of late. In fact, when examining the available press materials, Marvel was so keen on capping any potential spoilers that all the provided images are from previously released TV spots and trailers, a major deterrence from the norm. However, we do still have a few weeks before its nationwide premiere and I'm confident that more new images will emerge from the film.
