Ramping up its marketing campaign is the new Marvel superhero film, CAPTAIN MARVEL starring Brie Larson in the first female-driven adventure in the MCU. The film has garnered excitement from both the public and fans, but also some skepticism due to the somewhat mediocre trailers that have been released in the past. But in addition to a slew of new posters highlighting the film's release in IMAX, Digital 3D, etc., Marvel Studios has announced that advance ticket sales for the film have officially kicked off with fans able to grab their seats for the March 8th premiere on either Fandango or Atom. The newly released posters can be displayed in the slideshow below.
Premiering at around 11pm EST was the new "special look," teased by Marvel Studios themselves by alluding its debut at the CFP National Championship game. The special look can be found below.
The "special look" in question is only around 1 minute and thirty seconds and is reminiscent of BLACK PANTHER's marketing strategy where a TV Spot titled "Rise," with a similar length was released to announce and impress the film's newly optioned advance ticket sales. If that marketing campaign were to be applied to CAPTAIN MARVEL, it would suggest that no more full trailers will be released for the film. Hopefully this is not the case as this brand-new look at the film is the best we've seen yet, and many analysts are unsure if the already released trailers are enough to truly set the film ablaze in popularity.
But regardless, the film will be a massive success at the box office and some are even expecting it to pull in the astounding numbers that 2018's cultural phenomenon BLACK PANTHER did. At this point, it's hard to see the film accomplishing such a dastardly difficult feat, but it's important to note that no one should ever underestimate the popularity that the comic book genre holds. CAPTAIN MARVEL hits theaters on March 8th, 2019.
The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
