One of the biggest surprises of this year's HBB Reviews Awards was David Yates triumphing over Chazelle, Cooper, and even Cuaron to win the award for best director. This is the only win that THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD was able to take home, but it is still certainly one of the most prestigious.

In our review, we noted how the film was "...stridden by a stunning direction from the helm of David Yates and company and a bold, dark tone for the franchise." Our staff were in mostly unified agreement that Yates should be the one to take this achievement. Other notable winners include BLACK PANTHER which won our Editor's Choice award and FIRST MAN, taking home the largest award, Best Picture.
