After its initial showing at Brazil Comic-Con, the official teaser for July's SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, the highly anticipated sequel to 2017's blockbuster juggernaut SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, has been released to the masses. Classified as a "teaser trailer," the first look at the film in motion is nearly three minutes long, quite possibly one of the longest teaser trailers in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those who are yet to see it, the trailer in its entirety can be found below.
In addition, the official one-sheet teaser poster, featuring Spider-Man's more streamlined and modern mask design with a plastering of souvenir stickers, was also revealed. It's an excellent poster that truly emphasizes the tone and direction that this sequel will take.
SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is a direct sequel to that of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, which made over 800 million at the worldwide box office, solidifying its position as one of the most successful Spider-Man films of all time. However, some critics were keen to point out the lack of scale in the film and how it didn't provide a "massive consequence" for the rest of the MCU. But with FAR FROM HOME being the first MCU film after the surely shocking and explosive AVENGERS: ENDGAME, the future of the franchise should also be explored in this sophomore effort from director Jon Watts. But thanks to Watts' fantastic first film, which we described as "...an action-packed, riveting experience that proves to easily be one of the best films that Marvel Studios has ever put out" in our review, FAR FROM HOME ranked as our fifth most anticipated film of 2019, only bested by SHAZAM!, TOY STORY 4, STAR WARS EPISODE IX, and the previously mentioned AVENGERS: ENDGAME.
